Mechanism and Clinical Application of Cupping in Treating ObesityAbstract:Obesity is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by excessive fat content throughout the body or abnormal accumulation of local fat.Its global prevalence continues to rise and has become a major global public health challenge.Against this backdrop, external treatment methods in traditional Chinese medicine had attracted much attention due to their unique advantages.Among them, cupping therapy has shown potential value in obesity intervention thanks to its simplicity of operation, high safety, and good patient compliance. In recent years, the clinical application of cupping in treating obesity has gradually evolved from the traditional single model to a multi-technology collaborative intervention, and it has been incorporated into the modern evidence-based medical quality management framework.Based on the latest research progress at home and abroad, this study reviews the current situation of cupping therapy for obesity from multiple dimensions including theoretical origin and development, mechanism of action, and clinical practice. The aim is to provide evidence-based basis for optimizing treatment plans and to look forward to future research directions, promoting the standardization and scientific development of this therapy.
Analysis of the Influencing Factors of Elevated Serum Progesterone on Trigger Day in Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Infertility Undergoing in Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer with Long-Acting Long Protocol in the Follicular PhaseAbstract:Objective To explore the influencing factors of elevated serum progesterone(P)levels on the trigger day of the long-acting regimen during the follicular phase in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)and infertility undergoing in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET).Methods A total of 90 patients with PCOS infertility undergone IVF-ET treatment at Luoyang Central Hospital from January 2023 to October 2024 were selected as the research subjects. All patients were treated with the long-acting long protocol in the follicular phase(triptorelin acetate was injected on the third day of menstruation for down-regulation,and after reaching the target, human menopausal gonadotropin was given for ovulation induction, with regular monitoring and dose adjustment until follicular maturity).Patients were divided into a normal level group and a high level group based on the serum P level on trigger day.The clinical data of the two groups were collected and compared, and the factors with significant differences were included in the multivariate Logistic regression analysis to identify the independent risk factors for elevated serum P on trigger day in PCOS infertility patients undergoing IVF-ET with long-acting long protocol in the follicular phase. Results Among the 90 patients(90 cycles),20 patients(20 cycles)had a serum P level≥1.5 ng·mL-1 on trigger day and were included in the high level group;70 patients(70 cycles)had a serum P level<1.5 ng·mL-1 and were included in the normal level group. The age, total dosage of gonatotropin(Gn),serum estrogen(E2)level,and the proportion of body mass index<24 kg·m-2 in the high level group were all higher than those in the normal level group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that older age, body mass index<24 kg·m-2,higher total Gn dosage, and higher serum E2 level were independent risk factors for elevated serum P on trigger day in PCOS infertility patients undergoing IVF-ET with long-acting long protocol in the follicular phase(OR>1,P<0.05).Conclusion Older age, body mass index<24 kg·m-2,higher total Gn dosage, and higher serum E2 level are risk factors for elevated serum P on trigger day in PCOS infertility patients undergoing IVF-ET with long-acting long protocol in the follicular phase.
Influence of Communication-Listening-Empathy-Support Multi-Dimensional Nursing Model on Negative Emotions and Self-Care Ability of Elderly Patients Undergoing Cataract SurgeryAbstract:Objective To explore the effect of the communication-listening-empathy-support multi-dimensional nursing model on negative emotions and self-care ability of elderly patients undergoing cataract surgery. Methods A total of 328 elderly patients who underwent phacoemulsification for cataract at the department of ophthalmology of Kaifeng Central Hospital from June 2021 to February 2025 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 164 cases in each group.Patients in the control group received routine nursing care, while those in the observation group received the communication-listening-empathy-support multi-dimensional nursing model in addition to the routine care. The negative emotions before and after surgery,self-care ability before and after intervention, quality of life on the first day of hospitalization and three months after surgery, and nursing satisfaction were compared between two groups. Results Seven days and three months after surgery, the scores of the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)in both groups were lower than those before surgery, and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After the intervention, the scores of the exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Three months after surgery, the scores of the low vision quality of life questionnaire(LVQOL)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate of nursing in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The communication-listening-empathy-support multi-dimensional nursing model can effectively improve the negative emotions of elderly patients undergoing cataract surgery, enhance their self-care ability, improve the quality of life of low vision patients, and increase patient satisfaction with nursing care.
