[Journal Article]FENG Haibao, YANG Jingxue-Haihe Water Resources2026, No.06

Abstract:Aiming at the adverse effects of backfilling on the installation and structural safety of the immersed tunnel foundation at the connection section of the east artificial island of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, caused by bank flow and the"island head effect",this paper adopts a source-level backfill control method using steel plate covers to carry out stability design and stress characteristic analysis of the scour-prevention structure.Based on the 100-year and 20-year return period wave conditions, two calculation models, namely vertical and sloped revetments, are established. The combined effects of wave action and hydrodynamic forces on the stability of the toe-protection components are systematically considered, and the optimal ballast parameters for the scour-prevention steel plate are ultimately determined. The results indicate that the steel plate cover source-level backfill control technology can effectively mitigate the adverse impacts of continuous backfilling on the installation accuracy and structural safety of the immersed tunnel. The analysis method and ballast calculation approach can provide a reference for the design of scour-prevention structures and determination of ballast parameters in similar large-scale projects.

[Journal Article]HE Meng, HE Zhuoming-Haihe Water Resources2026, No.06

Abstract:The lower reservoir of the Dianbai Pumped Storage Power Station in Guangdong adopts a concrete gravity dam. From the perspective of economic efficiency and construction convenience, the optimal choice is to use excavated materials from the underground chambers as concrete aggregates. Therefore,it is necessary to study the alkali reactivity characteristics of the excavated materials in the lower reservoir chambers to determine the alkali reactivity properties of the aggregates. For aggregates with potential alkali reactivity hazards, experimental studies are also required to identify effective mitigation measures, providing scientifically accurate experimental data to support subsequent design, construction, and aggregate selection.

[Journal Article]YAN Chendan, WANG Zhe, ZUO Huanrui-Haihe Water Resources2026, No.04

Abstract:In order to analyze the impact of return flows generated after the operation of the Pagu Reservoir Project on the surrounding water environment,a one-dimensional hydrodynamic and water quality coupled model of the reservoir drawdown area is established based on the hydrodynamic and water quality modules of MIKE11,and the variation of river water quality in the drawdown area is predicted and analyzed.Based on the MIKE11 water quality model, this paper predicts and analyzes the longitudinal variation of water quality along the Nimumaqu River downstream of the dam site under a P=95%hydrological year,as well as the intra-annual variation of water quality at key water source sections downstream of the dam site.According to the prediction results,in a P=95%hydrological year, with the inflow of downstream point sources and agricultural non-point sources, the concentration of pollutants in the river increases. The pollutant concentrations along the Nimumaqu River and at key water source sections are slightly higher than the current levels, but still meet the Class Ⅲ standard, indicating that the impact on the water quality of the Nimumaqu River and key water sources is relatively small.

Water Resources Allocation in Boxing County Based on Regional Comprehensive Water Price Reform
[Journal Article]CHANG Cheng, LI Jinlong, GENG Xiaolin-Haihe Water Resources2026, No.04

Abstract:Boxing County of Binzhou,Shandong Province,is one of the water-receiving areas of the eastern route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.Following the completion of the follow-up supporting projects,Boxing County will face a multi-source water supply pattern consisted of surface water, groundwater,Yellow River water, and Yangtze River water.Price disparities have led water-receiving areas to regard Yangtze River water from the South-to-North Water Diversion Project as a backup source, making it difficult for Yangtze River water to receive treatment equal to that of Yellow River water and local water resources.Based on the regional comprehensive water price reform, this paper investigates and forecasts water demand only for non-agricultural water users of Dayuzhang Qushou Reservoir and Boxing Reservoir.Through water demand forecasting and available water supply analysis,a water resources allocation scheme oriented toward regional comprehensive water price reform is proposed. The results can provide a reference for regional comprehensive water price reform in water-receiving areas of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.

[Journal Article]WEI Jizu, ZHOU Chengli, LIU Zhanxing-Haihe Water Resources2026, No.06

Abstract:The hydropower station project in Pakistan is a long tunnel diversion-type hydropower project with complex geological conditions and high construction difficulty. When tunnel construction encounters adverse geological units such as large lithological boundaries, major faults, fracture zones, densely jointed zones, weak rock masses, areas prone to rockburst,or sections susceptible to water inrush and sudden water inflow as discovered or inferred by preliminary surveys, advance geological prediction,as an important technical measure for tunnel construction safety and schedule management, plays an irreplaceable role.Among them, the integrated method of ground-penetrating radar and infrared water detection is not only efficient but also effective, which can effectively prevent blind construction and guide safe and efficient tunnel construction.

Impacts of Climate Change and Human Activities on Water-Sediment Variation in Ganjiang River
[Journal Article]YANG Xia-Haihe Water Resources2026, No.07

Abstract:Water-sediment variation is an important factor affecting river ecological health. In recent years, under the combined effects of climate change and human activities, the water-sediment characteristics of the Ganjiang River have changed significantly. To investigate the water-sediment variation characteristics and their causes in the Ganjiang River, this paper is based on data from 40 meteorological stations in the Ganjiang River basin and Ganjiang River hydrological data from 1960 to 2018,sorting out water-sediment variation characteristics in different periods and quantitatively analyzing the attribution of water-sediment variation. The results show that precipitation and runoff in the Ganjiang River basin both show a non-significant increasing trend, while sediment transport shows a significant decreasing trend;the difference in precipitation-runoff relationship over time is significantly smaller than that in precipitation-sediment transport relationship, especially after the construction of the Wan′an Reservoir, where the difference becomes even more pronounced.Sediment reduction by the Wan′an Reservoir mainly occurs from March to October,of which the sediment reduction from March to June accounts for 77.3%of the annual total;large reservoirs on the main stream of the Ganjiang River have significantly stronger sediment reduction capacity than those on tributaries.Overall, climate change is the main cause of the increase in runoff, while human activities play a dominant role in runoff variation and sediment transport reduction. The research results can provide reference for water-sediment regulation, reservoir operation management, and river ecological protection in the Ganjiang River basin.

[Journal Article]YAN Dongyu, QIANG Chao, QIU Zhiyu et al.-Haihe Water Resources2026, No.07

Abstract:The lower reaches of Gufeng River Basin are located in the eastern part of Nanling County,Anhui Province,at the confluence of Qingyi River and Zhanghe River. It is an important part of the"Three Rivers Basin"of Shuiyang River-Qingyi River-Zhanghe River in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The region features compound landforms of hills, plains, and polder areas, with complex water system structures and obvious superimposition effects of upstream and downstream floods, placing great pressure on the flood control and waterlogging prevention system. In recent years, affected by changes in regional engineering conditions and hydrological regimes, the original flood control and waterlogging prevention system can no longer meet the needs of economic and social development in the new era.Based on the assessment of the current flood control capacity of the basin, this paper proposes a planning and treatment scheme, conducts multi-scheme comparison based on engineering quantity, investment estimation, and implementation feasibility, and determines the engineering scheme meeting the planned treatment standards.Meanwhile, the project scale is verified through flood routing calculation. The research results can provide reference for flood control and waterlogging prevention planning in hill-plain-polder compound small basins.
