Abstract:Objective To analyze the efficacy of Cr,Er:YSGG laser combined with gallic acid water extract in orthodontic patients with chronic periodontitis and its influence on periodontal inflammation. Methods Sixty orthodontic patients with chronic periodontitis who visited Huangdao District Central Hospital of Qingdao from January 2024 to January 2025 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into a control group(receiving full-mouth periodontal basic treatment combined with Cr,Er:YSGG laser irradiation)and an experimental group(receiving gallic acid water extract intervention on the basis of the control group),with 30 cases in each group. The clinical efficacy, periodontal indicators, oral health status, and gingival crevicular fluid inflammatory-related indicators before and after treatment of the two groups were compared. Results The total clinical effective rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the bleeding index(SBI),periodontal probing depth(PD),clinical attachment loss(CAL),plaque index(PLI),oral malodor sensory(OS)score, brief oral health status examination(BOHSE)score, the levels of interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6 in gingival crevicular fluid, white blood cells, and neutrophils in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of Cr,Er:YSGG laser and gallic acid water extract improved periodontal and oral health, suppressed inflammation, and enhanced clinical outcomes in orthodontic patients with chronic periodontitis.
