Study on the Impact of Comfort-Based Nursing for Eating and Fever Management on the Improvement of Symptoms in Children with Infectious Mononucleosis

Abstract:Objective To analyze the impact of comfort-based nursing for eating and fever management on the improvement of symptoms in children with infectious mononucleosis.Methods A total of 84 children with infectious mononucleosis admitted to Anyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital from March 2023 to September 2024 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into a control group and an observation group according to the random number table method,with 42 cases in each group.The control group received basic routine care,while the observation group received comfort-based nursing for eating and fever management in addition to the control group.The symptom resolution time,family satisfaction,anxiety and depression before and after the intervention,sleep quality,quality of life,and complication occurrence of the two groups were compared.Results The symptom resolution time of fever,pharyngitis,rash,lymph node enlargement,and liver and spleen enlargement in the observation group were shorter than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);The total satisfaction rate of family care in the observation group was 95.24%,higher than 80.95%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);After the intervention,the state-trait anxiety scale,child depression disorder self-rating scale,and simplified Chinese version of pediatric sleep questionnaire(PSQ)scores of the two groups were lower than those before the intervention,and the above indexes of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);After the intervention,the general health,physiological function,mental health,and emotional function scores of the mini-health status questionnaire of the two groups were higher than those before the intervention,and the above indexes of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);The total complication rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Comfort-based nursing for eating and fever management for children with infectious mononucleosis can accelerate the relief of symptoms,improve family satisfaction and the quality of life of children,and effectively improve the psychological state and sleep quality of children,and reduce the incidence of complications.
