Research on the Application of Controlled Medical Oxygen Concentration Gradients in HemodialysisAbstract:Objective This study aimed to investigate the effects of gradient-controlled oxygen therapy on oxidative stress markers and anemia-related parameters in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis(MHD),to provide evidence-based support for optimizing clinical care protocols. Methods Using prospective randomized controlled trial design, the research included 100 maintenance hemodialysis(MHD)patients treated at the Nephrology Department of Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital between December 2023 and December 2024.Patients were randomly assigned to an observation group and a control group(50 cases each)using a random number table. The control group received standard hemodialysis treatment and routine oxygen therapy(maintaining oxygen concentration at 28%-30%).The observation group received a dynamic oxygen concentration adjustment protocol:35%-40%oxygen concentration 30 minutes before dialysis,28%-30%concentration maintained for 2-3 hours during dialysis, and adjusted to 32%-35%concentration 30 minutes after dialysis. Both groups underwent 12-week intervention cycles.Primary observation indicators included:oxidative stress markers(superoxide dismutase SOD,malondialdehyde MDA,glutathione peroxidase GSH-Px),anemia-related parameters(hemoglobin Hb,hematocrit HCT,serum erythropoietin EPO),and adverse reaction incidence. Results Baseline data showed no significant differences in oxidative stress markers or anemia parameters between the two groups(P>0.05).After 12 weeks of intervention, the observation group demonstrated significant improvements:SOD levels(128.64±15.32 U/mL vs 105.28±14.67 U/mL)and GSH-Px levels(86.35±10.24 U/mL vs 72.16±9.85 U/mL)were significantly higher than those in the control group, while MDA levels(5.23±1.05 nmol/mL vs 7.86±1.23 nmol/mL)were significantly lower(P<0.05).In terms of anemia improvement, the observation group showed significantly higher Hb levels(112.56±10.34 g/L vs 98.67±9.85 g/L),HCT(33.85±3.21%vs 29.67±3.05%),and EPO levels(186.35±25.67 mIU/mL vs 152.46±23.85 mIU/mL)compared to the control group(P<0.05).Safety assessments revealed that the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group(6.00%)were significantly lower than in the control group(20.00%)(P<0.05).Correlation analysis indicated that SOD and GSH-Px showed significant positive correlations with Hb,HCT,and EPO,while MDA exhibited significant negative correlations with these anemia indicators(P<0.001).Conclusion The gradient-controlled medical oxygen therapy effectively improved oxidative stress status and enhanced anemia correction in MHD patients, demonstrating a high safety margin and broader clinical adoption.
CFD-based analysis of airflow organization in a plateau oxygen-enriched diffusion experiment cageAbstract:The application of diffuse oxygen enrichment in plateau environments is challenged by CO2 accumulation and uneven oxygen distribution within experimental chambers, compromising both experimental safety and data reliability. This study employed a Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)approach to simulate and analyze the airflow organization in a plateau diffuse oxygen enrichment experimental chamber.A physical model of the chamber was constructed, incorporating symmetrical ventilation inlets/outlets and parameters simulating rat respiration. The gas distribution characteristics under different operational conditions were investigated.Simulation results revealed that in the absence of ventilation,CO2 concentrated markedly within the rat's breathing zone.By optimizing the ventilation rate(43.2 m3/h)and air supply velocity(1.7 m/s),in coordination with a 30%oxygen supply, the oxygen concentration in the breathing zone was stabilized at 23.3%with a coefficient of variation of 4.2%,while CO2 levels were maintained under 1000 ppm.The oxygen enrichment efficiency reached 25.56%.This study confirms that optimizing airflow organization is crucial for achieving a safe and controllable oxygen-enriched microenvironment in plateau conditions, providing key parameters and a theoretical basis for the design of related artificial oxygen enrichment experimental equipment.
Analysis of Medical Purpose Air Drying Methods and Their CharacteristicsAbstract:The medical purpose air system is an indispensable component of medical gas systems, with moisture content being a critical indicator that affecting medical air quality. In order to investigate the moisture-handling capabilities of different dryers, two commonly used methods for drying air, namely the refrigerated drying method and the adsorption drying method, were introduced.Through the comparative analysis of the characteristics of typical drying equipment,it had been found that refrigerated dryers offer significant advantages in terms of price, while adsorption dryers deliver higher quality compressed air.It is recommended that adsorption dryers should be given priority consideration in the construction or renovation of medical air systems.
Exploring Management Risks of Compressed Air in"Technical Specification for Cleaning and Disinfection of Flexible Endoscopes"Abstract:Flexible endoscopes are generally dried using compressed air after cleaning and disinfection. To ensure that the clean state after the final rinse is not compromised, the compressed air used must meet the clean quality standards.Moisture, particulate matter and microorganisms are the main contaminants in clean compressed air.At present, medical institutions generally lack the awareness regarding management and control of such risks, primarily due to the absence of explicit control requirements in existing regulatory documents.Based on the principles of risk management,it is imperative to refine the corresponding technical requirements. To effectively ensure that the microbial limits of endoscopes meet standards after cleaning and disinfection,it is recommended to implement the same microbial control measures for compressed air that are as stringent as those for cleaning water. To address the technical gaps in the WS 507-2016 specification,it is advisable to reference the relevant technical requirements for clean compressed air outlined in the Good Manufacturing Practice(GMP)documentation for supplementation and refinement.
