Abstract:Objective This study investigated the preventive effect of the integrated oral-nasal hydrogen supply device on hypoxemia in snoring patients during painless gastroscopy, aiming to provide a reference for clinical practice. Methods A total of 90 snoring patients who underwent painless gastroscopy in our hospital from January 2022 to June 2024 were selected. They were divided into group A,group B and group C using the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group.Group A was given conventional nasal cannula oxygen, group B was given simple mask oxygen therapy, and group C received oxygen via the integrated oral-nasal hydrogen supply device. All patients underwent the examination under the standard anesthesia induction protocol. The changes in pulse oxygen saturation(SpO2),systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP)and heart rate(HR)were recorded at T0(before pre-oxygenation),T1(after pre-oxygenation),T2(1 min after the start of examination),T3(3 min after the start of examination),T4(5 min after the start of examination)and T5(after full recovery). In addition, the time consumed for wearing and removing the devices, the duration of hypoxemia, the incidence of hypoxemia and the incidence of adverse events were recorded and compared among the three groups. Results There were no significant difference in SpO2,SBP,DBP and HR among the three groups at T0(P>0.05).At T1-T4,the SpO2 level in group C was notably higher than that in group A and group B(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference in SpO2 level among the three groups at T5(P>0.05).At T2-T4,the SBP,DBP and HR in group C were more stable with smaller fluctuation ranges than those in group A and group B(P<0.05),and no significant difference in SBP,DBP and HR were observed among the three groups at T5(P>0.05).The incidence of hypoxemia and the duration of hypoxemia in group C were lower than those in group A and group B(P<0.05).The time for applying and removing the device in group C was significantly shorter than that in group A and group B(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference in the wearing and removing time between group A and group B(P>0.05).No adverse events such as intraoperative intubation or abortion of the procedure, occurred in any of the three groups. Conclusion All three oxygen inhalation methods hold clinical application value. The integrated oral-nasal hydrogen supply device demonstrated superior comprehensive performance compared to the simple face mask, specifically in reducing the duration of hypoxia, lowering the incidence of hypoxemia, and improving the stability of vital signs in snoring patients undergoing painless gastroscopy, worthy of clinical promotion and application.
