Application of individualized pain management based on the PERMA model in patients after surgery for thoracolumbar compression fractures

Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of individualized pain management based on the PERMA model in patients after thoracolumbar compression fracture surgery.Methods A total of 67 patients with thoracolumbar compression fractures and admitted to the department of orthopedics of Luoyang Central Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University between February 2023 and August 2024 were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group(n=34)and an observation group(n=33),according to a random number table.Both groups received conventional postoperative care,while the observation group was additionally given individualized pain management based on the PERMA model.Then,pain levels,lumbar function,and the incidence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups.Results After the intervention,the pain score in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(t=5.648,P<0.001),while the lumbar function score was significantly higher than the latter(t=—3.416,P=0.001).Moreover,the incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was significantly lower than the latter group(x2=4.417,P=0.036).Conclusion The application of individualized pain management based on the PERMA model in the postoperative care of patients with thoracolumbar compression fractures can effectively improve lumbar function,alleviate pain,and reduce the incidence of complications.

Effect of family resilience intervention for patients with acute myocardial infarction after percutaneous coronary intervention

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of family resilience intervention in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI)after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods A total of 80 AMI patients who underwent PCI admitted to the department of cardiovascular medicine of the Affiliated Wuxi People's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University between September 2024 and February 2025 were selected as study subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group(n=40)and an intervention group(n=40)using a random number table.Both groups received routine care,while the intervention group additionally received the family resilience intervention.Results After the intervention,the scores for family resilience,post-traumatic growth,and coronary heart disease self-management in the intervention group were significantly higher than those of the control group(t=—5.330,P<0.001;t=—11.086,P<0.001;t=—7.781,P<0.001).Conclusion Family resilience intervention can significantly improve family resilience,post-traumatic growth and self-management ability in AMI patients after PCI,ultimately promoting their recovery.

Needs for aging-in-place health care among elderly patients with chronic diseases in urban communities and its influencing factors

Abstract:Objective To explore the need of elderly patients with chronic diseases for aging-in-place health care and its influencing factors,so as to provide evidence for formulating targeted health care measures.Methods Between August 2023 and January 2025,1 137 elderly patients with chronic diseases in urban communities were surveyed using a general information questionnaire,and an aging-in-place health care service needs questionnaire.Results The total score of the needs for aging in place health care among elderly patients with chronic diseases was(82.51±9.91)points.Among the top 10 items in terms of needs,6 items were in the physiological dimension,with another 2 in the psychological and social dimensions,respectively.Moreover,multiple linear regression analysis showed that place of residence,marital status,occupational status,religious belief,method of medical payment and the number of chronic diseases were factors influencing the needs for aging-in-place health care(R2=0.125,adjusted R2=0.108,F=7.576,P<0.001).Conclusion The needs of elderly patients with chronic diseases for aging-in-place health care mainly focus on emergency resources,health screening,medical services,sports facilities and social support.Therefore,communities should comprehensively consider the above factors to meet their demands.

Research progress on medication discrepancies in elderly patients with multiple chronic conditions

Effects of structured activity combined with respiratory training on early rehabilitation after ostomy surgery

Abstract:Objective To study the effect of the structured activity combined with respiratory training in promoting early rehabilitation for patients undergoing ostomy surgery.Methods A total of 300 patients who underwent ostomy surgery between December 2022 and December 2024 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group,each of 150.The control group received routine postoperative care,while the observation group underwent structured activity combined with respiratory training.The time of first postoperative flatus,bowel sound recovery time,hospital stay,complication rates were compared between the two groups.Results The time of first postoperative flatus,recovery time of bowel sounds and length of hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(t=13.340,P<0.001;t=16.503,P<0.001;t=15.286,P<0.001).The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(x2=8.910,P<0.001).Conclusion The structured activity combined with respiratory training can reduce the risk of complications,accelerate the recovery of intestinal function,demonstrating significant clinical value for widespread adoption.

The therapeutic effect of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with acupoint massage under the guidance of Zhuang medicine meridian-tendon theory on post-stroke hemiplegic spasm

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)fumigation combined with acupoint massage based on Zhuang medicine meridian-tendon theory on spasm degree,limb motor function and activities of daily living(ADL)in patients with post-stroke hemiplegic spasm.Methods A total of 100 patients with post-stroke limb spasticity and admitted to Cenxi People's Hospital between July 2023 and April 2025 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,each of 50.Both groups received conventional acupuncture,while the observation group was additionally provided with herbal fumigation and acupoint massage guided by the Zhuang medicine meridian-tendon theory.The modified Ashworth scale,Fugl-Meyer assessment(FMA),and modified Barthel index(MBI)scores were compared between the two groups before,as well as after 2-and 4-week treatment.Results After 4-week treatment,the spasm in the observation group was relieved significantly compared to the control group(Z=—2.508,P=0.012).Moreover,significant differences were found in the FMA and MBI scores between the two groups concerning intergroup,time,and interaction effects(Ftime=265.342,P<0.001;Fgroups=58.923,P<0.001;Finteraction=18.474,P<0.001;Ftime=301.764,P<0.001;Fgroups=62.183,P<0.001;Finteraction=15.832,P<0.001).Conclusion The combined therapy in this study can alleviate post-stroke limb spasticity,and improve motor function and ADL in patients,demonstrating promising clinical application prospects.

Study of the current situation and influencing factors of emotional suppression in postoperative patients with laryngeal cancer

Abstract:Objective To explore the current status of emotional suppression in postoperative patients with laryngeal cancer and analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide a theoretical basis for postoperative rehabilitation.Methods By using the convenience sampling method,182 patients undergoing laryngeal cancer surgery in Fujian Cancer Hospital between December 2023 and March 2025 were selected as the research subjects,and surveyed using a general information questionnaire,the emotional inhibition scale,the voice fatigue index,the perceived social support scale,and the fear of progression questionnaire-short form.Results The total score of emotional suppression in patients after laryngeal cancer surgery was(29.12±5.77)points,positively correlated with the scores of voice avoidance and physical symptoms in voice fatigue(r=0.487,P<0.001;r=0.403,P<0.001),but negatively correlated with that of symptom improvement after rest(r=0.448,P<0.001).Moreover,multiple linear regression analysis showed that age,frequency of social activities,fear of recurrence,level of social support,voice avoidance,physical symptoms and improvement after rest were the independent influencing factors(R2=0.564,adjusted R2=0.542,F=24.753,P<0.001).Conclusion The emotional suppression of patients after laryngeal cancer surgery is at a moderately high level and affected by multiple factors.It is recommended to strengthen voice training and psychological support during postoperative rehabilitation to improve the quality of life of patients.

The application of joyful learning education combined with complication simulation perception among school-aged children with type 1 diabetes

Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy of combining joyful learning education with complication simulations perception in school-aged children with type 1 diabetes.Methods A total of 80 school-aged children with type 1 diabetes and hospitalized at Quanzhou First Hospital between April 2023 and March 2024 were enrolled and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group,each of 40.Both groups received routine diabetes care,while the intervention group additionally underwent joyful learning education combined with complication simulation perception intervention.Then,the two groups were compared in terms of diabetes knowledge acquisition,treatment compliance,blood glucose levels,and life quality.Results After the intervention,the treatment compliance and life quality in the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group(t=—10.641,P<0.001;t=—18.025,P<0.001),while the levels of fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose were significantly lower than the latter(t=5.120,P<0.001;t=3.487,P=0.001).Conclusion The combined therapy in this study can improve the treatment adherence and glycemic control of patients,bettering their life quality.

A network Meta-analysis of the effects of different interventions on benefit finding in cancer patients

Abstract:Objective To systematically evaluate the effect of different interventions on the benefit finding(BF)of cancer patients.Methods A systematic search was conducted in PubMed,Cochrane Library,Embase,Web of Science,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,VIP,and China Biology Medicine disc for randomized controlled trials related to interventions aiming to improve BF in cancer patients,with the time setting from inception to September 2025.After screening and data extraction,the Cochrane risk of bias tool version 2.0 was used for quality assessment.STATA 16.0 were applied for network Meta-analysis.Results A total of 23 studies involving 2 407 cancer patients and six types of psychological and behavioral interventions were included.The network Meta-analysis showed that expressive writing was the most effective intervention for improving BF,followed by mindfulness-based interventions and emotional expression therapy.Conclusion All interventions can effectively improve the BF of cancer patients.Expressive writing is recommended for priority application in clinical practice due to its straightforward operation,low cost,strong applicability,and marked effectiveness.Furthermore,the long-term effects of cognitive-behavioral stress management and Yoga interventions warrant further exploration to provide more comprehensive psychological support for cancer patients.

Nursing care for a patient with mechanical ventilation coma complicated with infection and difficulty in PICC catheterization

Abstract:This article summarizes the nursing care of a patient with mechanical ventilation coma complicated with infection and difficulty in indwelling peripherally inserted central catheter catheterization.The key points of nursing include the management of old puncture wound infections,the assessment of vascular access reconstruction,the pre-treatment of re-indwelling catheters for infected patients,the management of difficulties in PICC catheterization for comatose patients with mechanical ventilation,and post-catheterization care.Under the collaborative management of a multidisciplinary team,the PICC catheter was successfully indwelled.During the hospitalization,the catheter was well maintained and no catheter-related complications occurred.The patient recovered and was discharged after 103 days of hospitalization.

Development of health literacy in patients undergoing radical resection of colorectal cancer and its influencing factors

Abstract:Objective To explore the development of health literacy in patients undergoing radical resection of rectal cancer,and analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide a theoretical basis for future targeted intervention.Methods A total of 256 patients who underwent radical resection of colorectal cancer at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital Affiliated to School of Medicine,Zhejiang University,between November 2021 and November 2024 were selected as the research subjects.They were surveyed using the general information questionnaire,the health literacy management scale,the strategies used by people to promote health and the social support rating scale.Moreover,the influencing factors of the differences in development trajectories were analyzed.Results The health literacy development of patients undergoing radical resection of colorectal cancer can be classified into four categories:medium literacy-improvement type(39.5%),low literacy-maintenance type(15.2%),high literacy-good type(20.3%),and low literacy-improvement type(25.0%).The Logistic regression analysis showed educational level,per capita monthly income of the family,place of abode,postoperative complications,continuous nursing,self-efficacy,and social support level were independent influencing factors for the differences in the development trajectory of health literacy among such patients(all P<0.05).Conclusion There is group heterogeneity in the development of health literacy among patients after radical resection of colorectal cancer.Therefore,medical staff should formulate corresponding intervention measures to improve their health literacy.

Effects of the group standard-based intervention protocol on swallowing function in patients with post-stroke dysphagia

Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of intervention programs based on group standards on the swallowing function of stroke survivors with dysphagia.Methods A total of 56 stroke survivors with dysphagia and admitted to the department of neurology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University in the first half of 2024 were selected.According to the order of admission 28 patients admitted between January and February 2024 were selected into the control group,while 28 ones admitted between May and June 2024 were chosen into the experimental group.The control group was given routine care for stroke,while the experimental group received the intervention plan formulated based on the group standard"Feeding Care for Patients with Dysphagia after Stroke".The recovery of swallowing function and the degree of nurses' mastery of safety care knowledge for dysphagia were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention.Results After the intervention,the swallowing function of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group(Z=-3.420,P=0.001),and the score of nurses' mastery of safety care knowledge for dysphagia was significantly better than that before the implementation(t=-10.910,P<0.001).Conclusion The intervention program based on group standards can improve the swallowing function of stroke survivors with dysphagia and enhance nurses' mastery of safe nursing knowledge for dysphagia.

The impact of nursing based on change theory on patients undergoing gastric cancer chemotherapy

Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of nursing based on change theory on the patients undergoing gastric cancer chemotherapy.Methods A total of 103 patients undergoing gastric cancer chemotherapy between January 2022 and June 2024 were selected,and divided into a study group of 52 and a control group of 51,using a random number table.Both groups received routine nursing,while the study group was additionally provided with nursing intervention based on change theory.The incidence of complications after intervention,cancer fatigue symptoms,resilience of the two groups were compared.Results After 4-week intervention,the total incidence of complications in the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group(x2=3.985,P=0.046).Moreover,the scores of the revised Piper fatigue scale(RPFS)in the study group were significantly lower than that of the control group(t=11.031,P<0.001).Meanwhile,the scores of Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC)in the former group were significantly higher than the latter(t=-13.164,P<0.001).Conclusion Nursing based on change theory can reduce the occurrence of chemotherapy related complications among patients undergoing gastric cancer chemotherapy,alleviate their cancer fatigue,improve their psychological status.

Reliability and validity of the death literacy index scale among nursing interns

Abstract:Objective To test the reliability and validity of the death literacy index(DLI)scale in the group of nursing interns in China.Methods By using the convenient sampling method,799 nursing interns from Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University and Hunan Cancer Hospital between October and December 2024 were selected as the research subjects.They were surveyed using the DLI,whose validity and reliability were tested using the classical measurement theory,and using the death coping ability scale as a criterion.Results The score of the DLI scale for nursing interns was(6.60±1.79)points,and the score of the DLI was significantly positively correlated with the score of death coping ability scale(r=0.541,P<0.001).The Cronbach's α coefficient of the DLI scale was 0.963,the split reliability was 0.867,and the test-retest reliability was 0.709.Conclusion The DLI has good reliability and validity among nursing interns in China and can be used as an effective assessment tool for the death literacy level of nursing interns in China.

Summary of best evidence for management among patients after metabolic bariatric surgery

Abstract:Objective To systematically retrieve and synthesize evidence on management in patients after metabolic bariatric surgery(MBS).Methods The clinical guidelines,consensus,systematic reviews,best practices,and evidence summaries on management of MBS patients were retrieved from computer decision support systems,guideline repositories,comprehensive databases and professional society websites,with the time setting from inception till October 7,2024.Two researchers evaluated the quality of the literature and extracted relevant evidence independently.Results A total of 16 articles were included,comprising 2 clinical decisions,5 guidelines,4 systematic reviews,2 evidence summaries,and 3 expert consensuses.Thirty-one pieces of evidence were synthesized across six domains:multidisciplinary collaboration management,dietary and nutritional management,exercise and physical activity management,psychological management,health behavior management and follow-up management.Conclusion This study summarizes the best evidence on management of MBS patients for clinical practice,optimizing postoperative management strategies and promoting their long-term weight loss outcomes and life quality.

The mediating effect of psychological capital between autonomous learning and career status of nurses

Abstract:Objective To explore the mediating effect of psychological capital between nurses' autonomous learning ability and their career status.Methods A survey was conducted among 655 nurses from 3 grade-A tertiary hospitals in Suzhou City using the general information questionnaire,the self-regulated learning ability scale for nurses,the psychological capital questionnaire and the career status evaluation scale.Results The scores of nurses' autonomous learning ability,their psychological capital score and career status score were(130.44±19.39),(95.23±12.77)and(86.11±11.46)points,respectively.Moreover,nurses' psychological capital was positively correlated to their autonomous learning ability and career status(r=0.749,P<0.001;r=0.556,P<0.001).Meanwhile,autonomous learning ability was positively correlated with career status(r=0.566,P<0.001).Nurses' psychological capital had a partial mediating effect between autonomous learning ability and career status,with a mediating effect value of 0.310,accounting for 51.3%of the total effect.Conclusion Nurses' psychological capital plays a partial mediating role between their autonomous learning ability and career status.Therefore,medical management should focus on cultivating nurses' autonomous learning ability and psychological adjustment ability,so as to promote the healthy development of their career.

Construction of a clinical teaching quality evaluation index system for intern nursing students in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals

Abstract:Objective To construct an evaluation index system for the clinical teaching quality of intern nursing students in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals,so as to provide a reference for the cultivation of traditional Chinese medicine nursing talents.Methods Based on structured goal management,by consulting relevant domestic and foreign literature,combined with the national standards for the teaching quality of nursing,the initial draft of the evaluation index system for the clinical teaching quality of intern nursing students in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals was worked out.The evaluation index system was conducted after two rounds of expert letter consultation using the Delphi method.Results The active coefficients of the two rounds of letter consultation were 89.3%and 100.0%respectively,with the expert authority coefficients of 0.940 and 0.932 respectively.The Kendall's harmony coefficients of the indicators at all levels were 0.194~0.349 respectively.The final evaluation system consisted of 6 first-level indicators,22 second-level indicators and 42 third-level indicators.Conclusion The construction of the clinical teaching quality evaluation index system for trainee nurses in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals based on structured goal management is scientific and reliable,providing a reference for their future training and evaluation.
