Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of individualized pain management based on the PERMA model in patients after thoracolumbar compression fracture surgery. Methods A total of 67 patients with thoracolumbar compression fractures and admitted to the department of orthopedics of Luoyang Central Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University between February 2023 and August 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group(n=34)and an observation group(n=33),according to a random number table. Both groups received conventional postoperative care, while the observation group was additionally given individualized pain management based on the PERMA model. Then, pain levels, lumbar function, and the incidence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results After the intervention, the pain score in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(t=5.648,P<0.001),while the lumbar function score was significantly higher than the latter(t=—3.416,P=0.001).Moreover,the incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was significantly lower than the latter group(x2=4.417,P=0.036).Conclusion The application of individualized pain management based on the PERMA model in the postoperative care of patients with thoracolumbar compression fractures can effectively improve lumbar function, alleviate pain, and reduce the incidence of complications.
