Research Progress on Application of Infrared Thermal Imaging Technology to Assist Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment Based on Theory of Acupoint SensitizationAbstract:Acupoint sensitization refers to the transformation of an acupoint from its physiological"resting state"to a pathological"activated state".The infrared radiation of the human body is influenced by blood circulation, metabolism,as well as physiological and pathological reactions.Acupoints are not only the reaction points for internal organ diseases but also the stimulation points for acupuncture treatment. Therefore, the heat radiation emitted by acupoints can reflect the physiological and pathological information of the corresponding internal organs.Abnormal changes in human body heat radiation can be sensitively detected by infrared thermal imaging technology and presented in an intuitive form as an infrared thermal map. This article reviews the research on the application of infrared thermal imaging technology in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)diagnosis and treatment based on the theory of acupoint sensitization. It is found that this technology has been widely used in the field of TCM for reflecting disease conditions, assisting in syndrome differentiation and treatment, identifying TCM constitutions, guiding disease treatment, and evaluating therapeutic effects.Infrared thermal imaging technology converts the body's cold and hot information into data, and visualizes and objectifies it to reflect the physiological and pathological states of the human body.It can not only be used for health management and clinical disease screening, but also is expected to become one of the key technical tools for the modernization and quantitative research of TCM,with profound significance for the innovation and development of TCM.

Construction of Rehabilitation System for Postherpetic Neuralgia Based on Theory of"Taking Skin Lesion as Acupoint"Abstract:"Taking the skin lesion as the acupoint"is a theory based on the nutrient-defense theory and the cutaneous region theory, taking the skin lesion as the main operative site. This theory holds that the emergence of skin lesions is the result of the struggle between pathogenic factors and healthy qi in the cutaneous region, leading to abnormal movement of nutrient qi and defensive qi.Treating at the lesion site has the effect of expelling pathogenic factors and regulating the movemwnt of nutrient qi and defensive qi.In recent years, the incidence of postherpetic neuralgia has been constantly rising. The persistent pain and itching affect the normal life and social interaction of the patients.Simple local acupuncture, bloodletting, and other treatments can not cope with the complex condition of postherpetic neuralgia. Our team constructed a rehabilitation system for postherpetic neuralgia under the guidance of the theory of"taking the skin lesion as the acupoint".This system mainly uses Joss stick moxibustion, which plays the role of dredging the collaterals of the cutaneous region, regulating the nutrient qi and defensive qi,and promoting the elimination of pathogenic factors. It is supplemented by Tuina manipulation, physical factor therapy, occupational therapy, etc.,to enhance the effects of eliminating pathogenic factors, strengthening the muscles, regulating the nutrient qi and defensive qi,and promoting the recovery of the patients'life and social abilities. The combination of various methods is used to improve the rehabilitation efficacy.

Exploration on Neurological Mechanism of"Meridian-Viscera Correlation"Based on SPARC ProgramAbstract:At present, many scholars in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion have clearly pointed out that the SPARC program may pose a significant challenge to the development of traditional Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion. It is increasingly important for modern acupuncture efficacy and mechanism research to refer to and draw on the outcomes and insights from the SPARC program. This paper sorts out and summarizes various studies related to"meridian-viscera correlation"theory in the SPARC program, and the neural regulatory mechanism of"meridian-viscera correlation"theory is discussed in combination with autonomic nerve con-duction pathways concerned by SPARC program. It is proposed that the process of visceral diseases reflected in body surface acupoints or meridians is related to the co-participation of sympathetic post-ganglionic neurons in innervation and sympathetic sprouting of dorsal root ganglia. The projected relationship between the body surface and the viscera in sensory afferent and autonomic nerve efferent may be the neuroanatomical way of meridians or acupoints to treat viscera diseases, with a prospect of providing insights for the modern mechanism research and transfor-mation innovation of traditional Chinese medicine.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Origin and Exploration of Lung Generating BloodAbstract:Professor ZHANG Wei innovatively puts forward the theory of"Lung generating blood",which believes that the lung not only participates in the production of blood, but also directly generates blood. The team preliminarily explores lung generating blood in terms of the lung dominating qi and harboring the fluids, the lung dominating the ascending and descending of qi,and the lung governing the convergence of vessels. In order to deeply excavate the connotation of lung generating blood in Chinese medicine, the team further applies the digital platform of ancient Chinese medical books to sort out the origin of lung generating blood in Chinese medicine, and has found that"lung generating blood"related thesis first appeared in The Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period, subsequently, the relevant ancient books of various periods have been expanded and deepened from the perspectives of the lungs being the main source of qi and qi generating blood. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, the concept of lung qi generatein blood was interpreted, and it was believed that the lung was the master of qi of the whole body, and the blood would be generated when qi was flourishing. The synergistic roles of Spleen-Earth,Heart-Fire,and Kidney-Water in the generation of lung blood were recognized during this period.Among other things,spleen-earth provides the material basis for lung blood;the lung-metal is the wife of heart-fire,lung yin combines with heart fire to generate blood. It is also held that the kidney contains qi,it is responsible for the generation of water and marrow, and passes up through the diaphragm into the lungs, and is the important foundation of the formation of pulmonary blood. It can be seen that the ideas related to the theory of lung generateing blood has a long history, which provides a theoretical source and clinical guidance for the identification and treatment of lung diseases from blood by paying more attention to"lung blood deficiency","blood stasis in the lungs"and even"stasis poison",which provides a theoretical source and clinical guidance for the treatment of lung diseases from the blood.

ZHANG Fengmei's Experience in Treating Myopia in Children and Adolescents Based on Theory of Prolonged Vision Impairing BloodAbstract:Professor ZHANG Fengmei analyzes the occurrence and development of myopia in children and adolescents from the perspective of the theory that prolonged vision impairs blood. She believes that the abundance of qi and blood is closely related to the heart, liver, kidney, spleen, and stomach.Prolonged vision tends to damage the spleen, stomach, heart, liver, and kidney, leading to blood deficiency in the viscera.Blood deficiency causes qi stagnation, and the eyes lose the nourishment of essence and blood, thus resulting in myopia. Therefore,in treating myopia in children and adolescents, she begins by identifying which organ is deficient and then adjusts the qi and blood functions of the organs. For those with spleen and stomach deficiency, the treatment involves nourishing the spleen and stomach and replenishing qi and blood. The selected prescriptions include Yiqi Congming Decoction(益气聪明汤)and Buzhong Yiqi Decoction(补中益气汤).For those with liver and kidney insufficiency and essence and blood deficiency, the treatment focuses on nourishing essence and blood. The selected prescriptions include Qiju Dihuang Decoction/Pill(杞菊地黄汤/丸),Mingmu Dihuang Decoction(明目地黄汤),and Modified Zhujing Pill(加减驻景丸),etc. For those with heart blood consumption and yang qi deficiency, the treatment aims to tonify the heart and qi,calm the mind, and stabilize the will. The selected prescriptions include Dingzhi Pill(定志丸)and Guipi Decoction(归脾汤),etc. For those with blood deficiency and qi stagnation,as well as sluggishness of the ocular collaterals, the treatment involves regulating qi and blood, promoting blood circulation, and dredging collaterals. The selected prescriptions include Danggui Huoxue Drink(当归活血饮)and Buyang Huanwu Decoction(补阳还五汤),etc. Two proved cases are attached.

Research Progress on Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis Complicated with Depressive Disorder Using Traditional Chinese MedicineAbstract:Atopic dermatitis is an inflammatory skin disease related to allergies.Because its skin lesions often spread all over the body and cause unbearable itching,it is often accompanied by psychological disorders of different degrees.Among them, depressive disorder is closely related to it.The concurrent occurrence of the two usually aggravates clinical symptoms and prolongs the course of the disease.Existing studies have shown that atopic dermatitis and depressive disorder may share common pathological bases in aspects such as genetic susceptibility,immune-inflammatory response, dysfunction of the neuroendocrine system, and imbalance of the intestinal flora. Many active components of Chinese materia medica can play a therapeutic role in atopic dermatitis and depressive disorder by regulating the immune-inflammatory response, the neuroendocrine system, and the intestinal flora.Traditional Chinese medicine characteristic external treatment methods, such as acupuncture,pricking-cupping therapy, moxibustion, and Tuina, have also been applied in the treatment of them. There are 55 references.

Research and Practice on Theory of Visceral Manifestations of LiverAbstract:Visceral manifestations theory of liver(LVMT)is one of the important contents of tradirional Chinese medicine(TCM)visceral manifestations theory.Deepening its scientific connotation and promoting its inheritance and innovation to guide clinical practice have been important propositions in the basic research of TCM.This article systematically reviews the development history and basic consensus of the research on LVMT,emphasizing that the physiological characteristic of"liver governing and regulating"is closely related to emotional disorders and gynecological diseases. However, its modern research still faces challenges such as theoretical and clinical disconnection and insufficient integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, which urgently needs key breakthrough points.Taking premenstrual syndrome(PMS)/premenstrual dysphoric disorder(PMDD)as the entry point, this paper reveals the deep association between liver dysfunction(either excessive or insufficient)and the neuroendocrine mechanism in Western medicine. It is proposed that the states of liver dysfunction, imbalance of Chong and Ren meridians, and disharmony of nutrient-defense in patients with PMDD are consistent with the functional abnormalities of the gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)ergic system, the negative feedback disorder of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal(HPA)axis,and the immune disorder mechanism. From the perspective of constitution theory, the influence of genetic factors and environmental factors on the susceptibility to PMS/PMDD has been emphasized.Future research should be based on the holistic view of TCM,construct a four-dimensional framework of"phenomenon-data-mechanism-theory",integrate systems biology and artificial intelligence technologies, deepen the analysis of the microscopic regulatory network of the LVMT,promote complementary advantages of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and facilitate the leap of TCM from empirical medicine to precision medicine.

Experience of CHEN Jinghe,a"Model of Traditional Chinese Medicine",in Treating Chronic Headache in Cold RegionsAbstract:Mr.CHEN Jinghe,a"model of traditional Chinese medicine",believes that pathogenic factors in cold regions have the characteristics of heavy cold pathogen, vigorous wind pathogen, accumulation of phlegm-dampness,and concurrent blood stasis. Therefore, the etiology and pathogenesis of chronic headache in cold regions are mainly related to latent pathogenic factors of wind-cold or wind-heat,stagnation of qi and blood, deficiency, and phlegm. The treatment of chronic headache in cold regions should be tailored to the time, place, and individual, and based on the pathogenesis of the disease. For those with latent pathogenic factors remaining in the collaterals, the treatment should distinguish between cold and heat, and use the method of dispersion to expel the latent pathogenic factors. For those with stagnation of qi and blood, the treatment should involve promoting blood circulation and unblocking collaterals, and regulating both qi and blood. For those with deficiency of qi and blood, the treatment should aim at tonifying deficiency while preventing congestion, with a small amount of promoting medicinals as adjuncts. For those with phlegm-turbidity blocking collaterals, the treatment should focus on regulating qi and clearing heat. One proved case is attached.
