A Case of Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis with Specific Otorhinolaryngological Imaging Findings
Abstract:Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) is a multisystem autoimmune disease characterized by granulomas and necrotizing vasculitis, typically involving the upper and lower respiratory tracts and kidneys. Involvement of the ear is rare. This article retrospectively analyzes the clinical data and treatment process of a patient with GPA who presented with otologic symptoms as the initial manifestation, describing the patient's specific temporal bone CT and MRI imaging findings to provide imaging clues for clinical diagnosis of this disease, thereby reducing misdiagnosis, missed diagnosis, and treatment delays. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Qingdao Municipal Hospital (2025-KY-005), and the patient and family provided informed consent.
