Abstract:The rapid advancement of wireless communication technology has fueled a growing demand for ultra-wideband(UWB)antennas in both commercial and military applications.Vivaldi antennas have emerged as promising candidates due to their wide bandwidth, symmetrical radiation patterns, and low cross-polarization.However,challenges such as relatively low or inconsistent gain and directivity, coupled with large structural sizes, hinder their widespread adoption. To address these limitations, researchers have proposed various techniques and methodologies aimed at enhancing Vivaldi antenna performance. This paper presents a comprehensive review of key technologies for improving the gain and directivity of Vivaldi antennas. We analyze the principles, advantages, and disadvantages of these techniques, along with real-world application examples, aiming to provide valuable insights for future Vivaldi antenna design and optimization.
