Abstract:Due to the common advantages of rare earth ions such as relatively strong photoluminescence e-mission, long luminescence lifetime and high quantum yield , rare earth complex have been used in sensing mate-rials,and research on it is receiving increasing attention.Europium complex is a kind of excellent luminescent materials, and the luminescence properties of rare earth complexes are closely related to the ligand structure so improve the luminous performance measures focused on the molecular design. This paper based on molecular de-sign, the hole transport groups introduced bidentate ligands containing nitrogen and thiophene , and europium i-ons to form three complexes , Eu(DBM)3 PMS, elemental analysis characterized by IR , and to study the photo-physical properties of the compounds , and the mercury ion sensing properties under UV light. The luminescent solution containing compounds is extremely sensitive to Hg 2+, and a very small amount of Hg 2 +will lead to fluo-rescence quenching of the luminescent solution , making it visible under ultraviolet lamp , which can be used as a potential photochemical sensing material.
