The preparation of graphene quantum dots and the application in the field of food safety

Abstract：Graphene quantum dot is a kind of new fluorescent carbon nonmaterial , it has the excellent prop-erties of graphene , and photoluminescence properties that ordinary graphene does not possess , which is attributed to quantum confinement effect and boundary effect .In recent years, not only the application field of graphene quantum dots is in material field , but also it gradually extending to medicine , pharmacy , biology , environment and even the food safety field .The article discusses the preparation method and the application prospect of gra-phene quantum dots in the field of food safety .The preparation method mainly includes top -down and bottom-up, top-down method including chemical stripping method , hydrothermal method and electrochemical method;bottom -up method including solvent chemical method , ultrasonic method and microwave method .With the deepening application of GQDs in various fields , higher requirements for its appearance and size control are also put forward .Therefore , this paper introduces the methods that can precisely control the morphology and size of GQDs, and compares the advantages and disadvantages of various methods .As the good fluorescence probe , gra-phene quantum dots have a very broad application prospects in the progress of the application of rapid detection field, such as food safety inspection , heavy metal ion detection , biotoxin test , medical index detection and drug detection .
