Abstract:Reaction of Co(NO3)2·6H2O with D-camphoric acid (D-H2cam) and 4,4′-bis(benzimid-azol-1-ylmethyl) biphenyl ( bbmmb) under hydrothermal condition afforded one coordination polymer [ Co( D-cam)(bbmmb)]·H2O (1), which was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analy-sis, IR, powder X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis. Structural analysis reveals that coordination polymer 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P212121, a=9. 8786(9)?, b=17. 5620(18)?, c=19. 4752 (19)?,α=90°,β=90°,γ=90°,V=3378. 7(6)?3, Z =4, R1 =0. 0575, wR2 =0. 1097. Coordination polymer 1 possesses a two-dimensional homochiral layer structure. The flexibility of bbmmb has an important effect on the ho-mochiral structure of 1 . The fluorescent property of 1 was studied.
