Differences of regional eco -efficiency based on super efficiency DEA model in Shandong Province

Abstract：With the development of economics , environmental pollution has becoming a constraining factor for economic growth .Sustainable development has become an important target area for economic development . And eco-efficiency is an important means to measure the interaction between ecology and economy .Shandong Province as a major economic province of China , the degree of coordination of its economic development and the environment is extremely important for development .So in order to improve the eco -efficiency of Shandong province, this article used statistical data from 2008 to 2012, based on the input and output index system of DEA model.By using super-efficiency DEA model to calculate the eco -efficiency of 17 cities in Shandong, and al-so used Malmquist Index model to evaluate the cities on static evaluation and dynamic evaluation .These two e-valuation models are the most common model to study eco -efficiency .The researches show that the index of en-tirety's ecological efficiency is high , but there are significant gaps exist between the 17 cities, Dongying's eco-efficiency is on the top of the list .The results are obtained from Malmquist Index model shows that the total factor productivity ( TFP) is greater than 1 besides Weihai and Binzhou between 2008 and 2012.It is indicated from further interpretation of the growth rate that technological advancement is the major impetus for promoting the in -crease of ecological efficiency , and the comprehensive technical efficiency and pure technical efficiency are the secondary power for eco -efficiency .According to the result , the government and firms can take some effect measures to protect the environment and boost the development of economic .It provides a new perspective for not only Shandong Province but also all of China to get the maximum benefit .
