Abstract:The Rutile TiO2 micro nanoparticles were modified by Lauric acid in this paper. The structures of micro-nano TiO2 were characterized using Infrared spectroscopy ( IR) , Thermal analysis ( TG-DTA) , Scan-ning electron microscopy ( SEM) .The results show that lauric acid is chemically bonded in micro-nano TiO2 surface and forms a coating layer. The antiwear and anti-friction property of the product as an additive in paraf-fin base oil was investigated by a four-ball machine. The results illustrate that the modified nano-particulars have excellent anti-wear, anti-friction performance, and finally the friction mechanism is also analyzed.
