Abstract:The activated carbon ( AC) is treated by vacuum impregnation using various surfactant .The acti-vated carbon treated with surfactant is characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy , thermal gravity analytical , and electrochemical measurements .The enhancement in electrochemical performance of treated AC e-lectrode is mainly attributable to improvement in wettability and ion mobility , resulting in a higher usable surface area and a smaller internal resistance .The AC electrode supercapacitor treated with sodium dodecylbenzene sul-fonate exhibits the best electrochemical performance .Specifically, its specific capacity by the 143.2 F· g -1 in-creased to 196.8 F· g -1 , internal impedance by the 1.75Ωreduced to 0.71Ωand maximum power density by the 6035.7 W· kg -1 increased to 9380.2 W· kg -1 .
