Image compression method based on region segmentation with a hybrid wavelet-fractal coder
Abstract：This paper brings the Maximally Stable Extremal Regions(MSERs) to a hybrid wavelet-fractal coder.According to the image characteristics after region detection,we effectively improve the segmentation of image blocks and the structure of the set of Domain blocks.The improved image compression method more accords with human visual characteristics.This method enhances the compression performance,at the same time,it gets higher image quality.
