Preparation of high- purity aluminum oxide powder from aluminum residue containing chromium
Abstract:There were many pollution problems of aluminum residue containing chromium which were by - product of producing chromium by no - calcium calcinations method. The high - purity aluminum oxide powders were prepared using polyethylene glycol 600 and sodium hexametaphosphate as dispersing agent after separating chromium from aluminum residue containing chromium. The results show that chromium, ferrum and the other elements are not discovered in the aluminum oxide powders, and the samples are high -purity. When the dispersing agent is 0.5% PEG600, the mean grain size is smaller than the others, and there are less grain agglomeration and laminating. It is obvious that the single grains minish, however, there are more grains agglomeration and laminating using 2.0% PEG600 as dispersing agent. When the dispersing agent is 1.0% SHMP, the mean grain size is the smallest, the grains are uniformity and there are less laminating, however, the part grain are agglomeration.
