Abstract:Graphene oxide and various ZnO precursors(nano-ZnO,Zn(OH)2,Zn2(OH)2CO3)powders were used as raw materials to prepare ZnO/reduced graphene oxide composites through low-temperature heat treatment. The influence of different ZnO precursors on the phase composition, morphology, and photocatalytic performance of the resultant products was studied. The research results showed that graphene oxide underwent a reduction reaction during heating, primarily occurring within the temperature range of approximately 140~220℃.After heat treatment at 250℃for 2 h,graphene oxide was reduced to reduced graphene oxide.Using different ZnO precursors and graphene oxide powders,ZnO/reduced graphene oxide composites can be prepared through low-temperature heat treatment.Composites prepared using different ZnO precursors exhibited significant differences in their micromorphology, light absorption capacity, and photocatalytic performance.UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy analysis indicated that the composites prepared using Zn(OH)2 and Zn2(OH)2CO3 as precursors demonstrated stronger absorption of both ultraviolet and visible light compared to those using nano-ZnO directly as the precursor. In the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue, the time required for complete degradation by the ZnO/reduced graphene oxide composites prepared using nano-ZnO,Zn(OH)2,and Zn2(OH)2CO3 as precursors was 34,24,and 90 minutes, respectively. In contrast, pure nano-ZnO required 150 minutes. These results demonstrate that the ZnO/reduced graphene oxide composites can significantly enhance photocatalytic performance.
