Abstract:Lanthanum and magnesium modified biochar(LM-YMBC)was prepared from municipal sludge mixed with a certain amount of corn stover by one-step hydrothermal method. The effects of hydrothermal temperature,Lanthanum magnesium metal ratio and hydrothermal time on the adsorp-tion of phosphorus by LM-YMBC were investigated to determine the optimal preparation conditions. The results showed that LM-YMBC adsorbed phosphorus up to 80.03 mg/g under the conditions of hydrothermal time of 8.75 hours, temperature of 147.7℃,and corn stover doping ratio of 0.497.Scanning electron microscope analysis showed that the surface of LM-YMBC was rough, with a well-developed pore structure and a large specific surface area.Energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS)spec-tra indicated that the phosphorus was successfully adsorbed onto the LM-YMBC surface.Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy showed that the molecular structure of the biochar contained a large number of hydroxyl and carboxyl groups.X-ray diffraction(XRD)showed that lanthanum and magnesium were loaded onto the surface of the biochar in the form of La(OH)3 and Mg(OH)2,re-spectively,which reacted with phosphorus in the wastewater to form LaPO4 and Mg2(PO4)OH,re-spectively,during the adsorption process.
