Abstract：Photocatalytic fuel cell(PFC)combine the degradation of organic compounds with simul-taneous electricity generation,making them a promising solution for organic waste treatment in recent years.The coupling system of persulfate(PS)advanced oxidation with PFC,by introducing PS into PFC,can effectively enhance the power generation and organics degradation efficiency.This paper presents the working mechanism of PS coupling PFC system.Both of the preparation method and per-formance of different photoanode and cathode materials were compared and analyzed.The state of the art progress of PS coupling PFC system targeting at organic wastewater treatment was reviewed.In addition,the preliminary outlook on the future development of this coupling system was provided.
