Abstract:Through annealing nanodiamonds,a composite material featuring a diamond core and a graphene shell was synthesized. It exhibited excellent adsorption and photocatalytic capabilities. The results show that the surface of nano diamond with coarse particle size(particle size of 50 nm)may be graphitized after high-temperature annealing, but no onion graphite shell can be formed. The annealed nano diamond also had no photocatalytic degradation ability for methyl orange.Nanodiamond/onion like carbon materials with a core/shell structure were obtained by high-temperature annealing(1 400~1 500℃)of nano diamond(particle size of 5 nm)prepared by detonation method. The mate-rial exhibited commendable visible light photocatalytic activity. The nano diamond annealed at 1 500 ℃ can almost completely degrade 100 mg/L of methyl orange solution within 1 h .
