Rapid Microwave Sintering of SiC Powders

Abstract：SiC powders with coarse particle are used as raw materials. SiC body has been obtained with any aids by microwave sintering for 2 minute. The results show that the powders are rapidly by microwave heating. The powders generates a glow. The powders are obviously sintering. SEM result shows that SiC grains is melted and is agglomerated. And sintering neck can be observed among the SiC particles.
