Abstract:Objective: To explore the predictive value of the novel non-traditional lipid index triglyceride-total cholesterol-body mass index (TCBI) for short-term readmission after discharge in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy combined with heart failure. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the medical records of 516 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy combined with heart failure who were treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from 2021 to 2022. Univariate, multivariate logistic regression, and restricted cubic spline (RCS) curve analysis were used to evaluate the relationship between TCBI and readmission. Results: A total of 58 patients (11.24%) experienced short-term readmission after discharge. After adjusting for multiple models, lower levels of TCBI remained an independent risk factor for short-term readmission in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy combined with heart failure. When TCBI was stratified by tertiles into Q1, Q2, and Q3 groups, the readmission rate in Q2 and Q3 groups was significantly lower compared to Q1 group [OR=0.443, 95%CI (0.197, 0.993), P=0.048; OR=0.045, 95%CI (0.010, 0.190), P<0.001]. RCS curve analysis showed that as TCBI levels decreased, the rate of readmission increased (P<0.001). Correlation analysis indicated a negative correlation between TCBI and NT-proBNP levels (r=-0.17, P<0.001). Conclusion: Lower levels of TCBI are a predictive factor for short-term readmission in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy combined with heart failure.
