Abstract:Objective: To observe the efficacy of Qishen Yiqi Dropping Pills combined with sacubitril/valsartan in the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF) and its effect on heart rate variability (HRV). Methods: A total of 60 patients with CHF admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to July 2023 were randomly divided into a control group (30 cases) and an observation group (30 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with sacubitril/valsartan, while the observation group received Qishen Yiqi Dropping Pills on top of the control group's treatment for a course of 3 months. The clinical efficacy, echocardiographic indicators, biochemical indicators, HRV indicators, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (93.33% vs. 73.33%, P < 0.05). Compared with before treatment, after 3 months of treatment, both groups showed significant decreases in left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD) and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD), and significant increases in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (P < 0.05). Moreover, the echocardiographic indicators of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group (P < 0.05). Compared with before treatment, after 3 months of treatment, the levels of serum brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), and troponin T (cTnT) in both groups decreased significantly (P < 0.05); and the levels of BNP, IL-6, CRP, and cTnT in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Compared with before treatment, after 3 months of treatment, the HRV indicators of both groups increased significantly (P < 0.05), and the HRV indicators of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the control group and the observation group was 10.00% and 13.33%, respectively, with no statistically significant difference between the groups (χ² = 0.162, P > 0.05). Conclusion: The application of Qishen Yiqi Dropping Pills combined with sacubitril/valsartan in the treatment of CHF is effective, can improve cardiac function, enhance HRV, reduce inflammatory factors and serum levels of BNP and cTnT, and has good safety.
