Research Progress of Systemic Inflammatory Response Index in Cardiovascular Diseases

GUO Renwei
Abstract:This paper reviews the recent research progress on the relationship between the systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) and cardiovascular diseases. Inflammatory responses play an important role in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. As a novel inflammatory biomarker, SIRI integrates multiple inflammatory cells, and can more comprehensively and accurately reflect the balance between local immunity and systemic inflammatory responses. An elevated SIRI has significant predictive value for the occurrence, development, and adverse clinical outcomes of various cardiovascular diseases, such as acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and hypertension.
