Analysis of the Medication Rules for Chest Pain and Heartache in the Tang and Song Dynasties Based on Data Mining

Abstract:Objective:To explore the prescription rules of chest pain and heartache in Tang and Song Dynasties.Methods:The representative prescriptions for treating chest pain and heart pain of the medical data of the Tang and Song dynasties were screened,and medication patterns were analyzed using frequency analysis,cluster analysis,and association rule analysis.Results:The representatives of the Tang Dynasty 127 prescriptions involving 190 Chinese medicinal substances were collected,Cinnamon,Dried Ginger,Ginseng,and Licorice were the most frequently used ingredients.High-frequency drug cluster analysis showed four distinct clusters,predominantly composed of warm-natured and tonifying herbal substances.Association rule analysis showed 14 core herb pairs,such as aconite and dried ginger,Asarum and Dried Ginger,Angelica sinensis and Ginseng,among others.The representative prescriptions of the Song Dynasty were collected.There were 338 formulas,involving 246 kinds of traditional Chinese medicines.The herb with higher usage frequency were Cinnamon,Angelica sinensis,Dried Ginger,Radix Aucklandiae,and Dried Tangerine Peel,etc.High-frequency drug cluster analysis showed three clusters,most of them were drugs that warm yang and regulating Qi.High-frequency drug cluster analysis showed three clusters,most of them were drugs with warm yang and regulating Qi.Association rule analysis identified 15 core drug pairs,including Cinnamon and Angelica sinensis,Red Ochre and Dried Ginger,as well as Trichosanthes and Pinellia.Conclusion:Tang Dynasty physicians made good use of Wenyang and attached great importance to the method of replenishing Qi and blood,while Song Dynasty physicians paid more attention to the regulating Qi and invigorating blood on this basis,and at the same time used warming methods to treat chest obstruction and heart pain.
