Abstract:Objective: To observe the effect of family fixed partner intervention on medication adherence in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods: A total of 120 elderly hypertensive patients were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group using a random number table method. The control group received routine hypertension health education, while the intervention group received additional management of blood pressure by a family fixed partner. After a 12-month follow-up, medication adherence and blood pressure levels were compared between the two groups. Results: Before the intervention, there were no statistically significant differences in medication adherence, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and mean arterial pressure between the two groups (P > 0.05). After 12 months of intervention, the medication adherence and blood pressure control of the intervention group showed significant improvement, while the control group showed no obvious change. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Family fixed partner intervention can significantly improve medication adherence in elderly hypertensive patients and enhance blood pressure control, with long-term sustainability.
