Abstract:This review summarizes the research progress on the relationship between non-traditional lipid markers and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), aiming to provide a theoretical basis for the risk assessment and treatment of ASCVD. Atherosclerosis, as the core pathological basis of ASCVD, involves multiple risk factors, among which lipid metabolism disorders are the main risk factor leading to ASCVD, especially the elevation of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). However, in clinical practice, despite the effective reduction of LDL-C levels, there is still a high risk of ASCVD occurrence. Non-traditional lipid markers such as apolipoprotein B, lipoprotein(a), non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and residual lipoprotein cholesterol participate in the development of atherosclerosis, thereby leading to the occurrence of ASCVD. However, there is currently no consensus on the application of non-traditional lipid markers in clinical practice in China.
