Abstract:Objective: To explore the mechanism of Huatan Maitong Tablets in improving the antioxidant effects in patients with phlegm-stasis syndrome after coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Methods: A total of 57 patients who underwent successful coronary artery bypass graft surgery in our hospital from 2020 to 2021 were randomly divided into a control group (29 cases) and a treatment group (28 cases). The control group received standard Western medical treatment, while the treatment group was given oral Huatan Maitong Tablets in addition to the treatment of the control group. The levels of serum oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL), malondialdehyde (MDA), nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and NAD(P)H quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1), as well as changes in TCM syndrome scores, were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: After 12 weeks of treatment, the serum levels of ox-LDL and MDA in both groups significantly decreased, but the decrease in the treatment group was more pronounced than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). The levels of Nrf2, NQO1, and SOD in both groups were higher than before treatment, and the increase in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of the treatment group was 92.9%, while that of the control group was 58.6%, and there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Huatan Maitong Tablets can enhance the level of Nrf2, activate the Nrf2 pathway and downstream factors such as SOD and NQO1, thereby maintaining the body's redox balance; reduce the concentration of inflammatory factors ox-LDL and MDA, decrease the production and release of inflammatory factors, improve clinical symptoms, and promote postoperative recovery.
