Analysis of the Medication Rules for Palpitation Treated by Professor Xu Yan

Abstract：Objective:To explore the clinical medication experience,characteristics,and medication rules of Professor Xu Yan in treating palpitation based on data mining.Methods:The effective medical records of palpitations in Professor Xu Yan's clinic were collected,and a prescription-drug database was established using Excel software.RStudio(4.3.2)was used for data mining such as frequency analysis,association rules,and efficacy frequency analysis of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Results:A total of 542 prescriptions of TCM for palpitations by Professor Xu Yan were included.The top five diseases were ventricular premature beats,simple palpitations,atrial premature beats,atrial fibrillation,and hypertension,involving 248 kinds of TCM,with 44 kinds of TCM used＞100 times.Among them,the top 10 kinds of TCM used frequently were Poria,Panax ginseng,Pinellia ternata,Cassia twig,Glycyrrhiza,Atractylodes macrocephala,Salvia miltiorrhiza,Szechwan Lovage Rhizome,Nacre,and Angelica sinensis,in order.The efficacy of TCM was divided into 19 categories,and the popular medicines were deficiency tonic drugs.Forty-three pairs of drug combinations were obtained through association rule analysis.There were 11 pairs of core drugs.Conclusion:Professor Xu Yan treats palpitation from the following aspects:regulating emotions,treating the heart,taking into account other syndromes,regulating the middle energizer,caring for the spleen and stomach,etc.
