The Effect of Shexiang Baoxin Pill on the Level of Apelin-13 in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease Critical Lesions Complicated with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract：Objective: To observe the effect of Musk Heart Pill on Apelin-13 levels in patients with coronary heart disease with borderline lesions combined with type 2 diabetes. Methods: A total of 158 patients hospitalized at Subei People's Hospital from January 2024 to June 2024, diagnosed with coronary heart disease with borderline lesions and type 2 diabetes, were randomly divided into a study group (78 cases) and a control group (80 cases). The control group received secondary prevention treatment for coronary heart disease, while the study group received Musk Heart Pill in addition to the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 6 months. The changes in Apelin-13 levels, Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ) scores, and adverse drug reactions were observed before and after treatment. Results: After treatment, the Apelin-13 level in the study group was higher than before treatment, and the Apelin-13 level in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in Apelin-13 levels between before and after treatment in the control group (P > 0.05). After treatment, the SAQ scores of both groups were higher than before treatment (P < 0.05), and the SAQ score of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group and the control group was 14.1% and 12.5%, respectively, with no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Musk Heart Pill can increase the content of Apelin-13 in peripheral blood and improve clinical symptoms and quality of life in patients with coronary heart disease with borderline lesions combined with type 2 diabetes.
