Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical value of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left atrial diameter (LAD), neutrophil count (ANC), red cell distribution width (RDW), and total bilirubin (TBIL) in predicting heart failure in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). Methods: A total of 207 NVAF patients admitted to the Department of Cardiology, Affiliated Linfen Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from January 2019 to December 2022 were selected. General information, biochemical tests, and echocardiographic parameters were collected. Patients were divided into two groups based on whether they had heart failure: the combined group (76 cases) and the simple group (131 cases). Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to identify factors influencing heart failure in atrial fibrillation patients. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn using GraphPad Prism 9 to analyze the predictive value for heart failure. Results: LVEF, LAD, male gender, neutrophil count, RDW, and TBIL were identified as risk factors for heart failure in atrial fibrillation patients (P < 0.05). The combination of LVEF, LAD, ANC, RDW, and TBIL showed an area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.8694 [95% CI (0.8205, 0.9184)], with a sensitivity of 85.53% and a specificity of 70.99%. Conclusion: LVEF, LAD, ANC, RDW, and TBIL have high predictive value for heart failure in patients with atrial fibrillation.
