Abstract:Ischemic stroke (IS) involves extremely complex pathophysiological changes, and inflammatory responses participate throughout the development of IS. Therefore, regulating inflammatory-related signals and reducing inflammatory damage is of great significance for the treatment of IS. Some microRNAs (microRNAs) participate in the progression of IS by regulating key inflammatory factors, the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathway, modulating inflammatory responses, and intervening in pathological processes such as apoptosis and pyroptosis. Traditional Chinese medicine has advantages in treating IS with multiple targets, multiple pathways, and multiple mechanisms. This review systematically summarizes the mechanisms of microRNA regulation of the NF-κB signaling pathway in the occurrence and development of IS and the intervention effects of traditional Chinese medicine, aiming to provide a scientific basis for future clinical treatment of IS and the development of new drugs.
