Abstract:The prevalence and mortality rate of coronary heart disease are increasing year by year. Insulin resistance is closely related to the occurrence and development of coronary heart disease. The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is easy to measure and is not affected by insulin in the body, which can provide guidance for the prediction, severity assessment, and prognosis of coronary heart disease, and is widely used in grassroots hospitals. This article reviews the research progress on the relationship between insulin resistance indicators, TyG index, and coronary heart disease, as well as the mechanisms linking TyG index with coronary heart disease.
