Abstract:Objective:To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of external therapy of traditional Chinese medicine for constipation after acute myocardial infarction. Methods:Randomized controlled trials for the treatment of constipation after myocardial infarction with external therapy of traditional Chinese medicine were searched from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),VIP Chinese Biomedical Journal(VIP),WanFang Data Knowledge Service Platform(WanFang Data),China Biology Medicine Disc(CBM),PubMed,and EMbase databases from the establishment of the database to November 8,2024.The literatures were screened and data were extracted according to the preset criteria.RevMan 5.3 software was used for Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 12 literatures were included, including 942 patients. The results of Meta-analysis showed that compared with the control group, the effective rate of the experimental group(OR=4.84,95%CI 2.90-8.08,P<0.000 01)was better, while the time to first defecation(MD=—0.64,95%CI—0.81-—0.47,P<0.000 01),the incidences of dyspecation(OR=0.20,95%CI 0.10-0.40,P<0.000 01)and prolonged defecation time(OR=0.18,95%CI 0.09-0.37,P<0.000 01)were better. Conclusion:The current evidence showed that external therapy of traditional Chinese medicine with certain advantages in improving constipation after myocardial infarction, especially in promoting the time of first defecation and alleviating defecation discomfort.
