Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy of Yiqi Qiangxin Decoction in the treatment of chronic heart failure with Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome. Methods: A total of 85 patients with chronic heart failure (Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome) who were hospitalized or visited the outpatient department of the Department of Cardiology at Huai'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Huai'an Second People's Hospital from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group (43 cases) and a treatment group (42 cases). The control group received conventional Western medical treatment, while the treatment group was given Yiqi Qiangxin Decoction in addition to the treatment of the control group. Before and after treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, general indicators (such as weight, body mass index, heart rate, blood pressure, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, urea nitrogen, creatinine), cardiac function indicators [left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD)], N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), Lee's heart failure score, 6-minute walk test (6MWT), Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ), etc., were observed. After 8 weeks of treatment, mitochondrial membrane potential levels were detected; the readmission rate and mortality rate within 6 months were recorded. Results: After treatment, the improvement in TCM syndrome scores, LVEF, LVEDD, NT-proBNP, Lee's heart failure score, 6MWT, and MLHFQ in the treatment group were better than those in the control group (P < 0.05); the degree of right shift in mitochondrial membrane potential in the treatment group was better than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Based on the theory of qi, blood, and water, the application of Yiqi Qiangxin Decoction can improve the TCM syndrome and cardiac function of patients with chronic heart failure with Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome, regulate mitochondrial function, and improve the quality of life of patients, which is effective and safe in clinical application.
