Abstract:Objective: To investigate the efficacy of a self-designed cardiotonic and diuretic formula combined with recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide in the treatment of chronic cor pulmonale and its effects on patients' cardiopulmonary function. Methods: A total of 60 patients with chronic cor pulmonale treated at Langfang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from September 2021 to September 2023 were randomly divided into an observation group (30 cases) and a control group (30 cases) using a random number table method. The control group received recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide on top of routine treatment, while the observation group received the self-designed cardiotonic and diuretic formula on top of the control group's treatment. The clinical efficacy, cardiac function indicators, pulmonary function indicators, and pulmonary artery pressure were compared between the two groups. Results: The overall effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group. After treatment, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and stroke volume (SV) in both groups increased significantly, while maximum oxygen uptake (VO2) and early-to-late diastolic mitral inflow velocity ratio (E/A) decreased significantly. Moreover, the decrease in LVEF and E/A in the observation group was greater than that in the control group. After treatment, the pulmonary function indicators peak expiratory flow (PEF), forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1), and forced vital capacity (FVC) in both groups increased significantly, with greater increases observed in the observation group. After treatment, pulmonary artery diastolic pressure (PADP), pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP), and mean pulmonary artery pressure (MPAP) in both groups decreased significantly, with greater decreases observed in the observation group. During treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The combination of the self-designed cardiotonic and diuretic formula with recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide has a significant therapeutic effect on patients with chronic cor pulmonale and can improve their cardiopulmonary function.
