Abstract：Combining ancient medical literature and modern research, this article reviews the nomenclature, etiology and pathogenesis, treatment methods, and herbal prescriptions for hypertensive encephalopathy. To better leverage the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in treating this condition, future efforts should focus on standardizing the diagnostic and therapeutic protocols and conducting relevant mechanism studies to provide guidance for clinical practice.
