Abstract:Objective: To observe the changes in triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) levels in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and to analyze the correlation between TyG index and inflammatory factors IL-6 and TNF-α. Methods: A total of 110 CHD patients who visited our hospital from May to December 2022 were selected and divided into two groups based on whether they had T2DM. Patients with CHD combined with T2DM were classified as Group A (68 cases), while those without T2DM were classified as Group B (42 cases). The TyG index was collected and calculated, and the levels of inflammatory factors IL-6 and TNF-α were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors for CHD combined with T2DM. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were drawn to analyze the diagnostic value of TyG index alone and in combination with IL-6 and TNF-α for CHD combined with T2DM. Results: The levels of TyG index, IL-6, and TNF-α in Group A were higher than those in Group B, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). The TyG index showed a positive correlation with IL-6 (r = 0.180, P = 0.042) and TNF-α (r = 0.223, P = 0.011). ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve (AUC) for TyG index and for the combination of TyG index + IL-6 + TNF-α were 0.694 and 0.741, respectively. Logistic regression analysis showed that TyG index [OR = 2.056, 95% CI (1.061, 3.985), P = 0.033] and IL-6 [OR = 1.026, 95% CI (1.002, 1.050), P = 0.037] were independent risk factors for CHD combined with T2DM (P < 0.01). Conclusion: The TyG index is related to the levels of inflammatory factors IL-6 and TNF-α, and has important clinical significance in the progression of CHD combined with T2DM.
