Research Progress on Mechanism of Zhigancao Decoction for the Treatment of Atrial Fibrillation

Abstract：Atrial fibrillation is a common cardiovascular disease in clinical practice, with its prevalence and mortality rate increasing year by year, becoming a difficult problem in the medical field. The classic formula Zhi Gan Cao Decoction has been widely used in the treatment of atrial fibrillation. This review summarizes the mechanisms of Zhi Gan Cao Decoction in treating atrial fibrillation, focusing on its intervention in the occurrence and development of atrial fibrillation through ion channels, structural remodeling, autonomic nervous system, oxidative stress, autophagy, and inflammatory responses, aiming to provide references for further experimental research and clinical application of Zhi Gan Cao Decoction.
