Abstract:Objective:To observe the effects of simultaneous treatment of phlegm and stasis on the area of coronary atherosclerotic plaques, blood lipids, and inflammatory indicators. Methods:Eighty patients aged 18 to 80 who were hospitalized for coronary angiography from January 1,2023 to August 31,2023 were selected.Intravascular ultrasound(IVUS)examination was observed and the stenosis degree of the target lesion site of the coronary artery was 50%~70%,without calcified plaques. The patients were randomly were divided into test group and control group, and received simultaneous treatment of phlegm and stasis or placebo for a 12-month treatment course. Both groups were followed up for 12 months. At the baseline of treatment and after 12 months of follow-up,the blood lipids[total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)],high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)were compared between the two groups. The degree of stenosis and plaque area of the target lesion were examined by inflammatory indicators and IVUS.The general clinical data, cardiovascular events and adverse drug reactions were compared. Results:A total of 80 patients were collected,3 cases dropped out of the test group and 4 cases dropped out of the control group.Eventually,37 cases were included in the analysis, including 37 cases in the test group and 36 cases in the control group.Compared with data before treatment, the area of coronary artery plaques in the test group decreased after treatment, the degree of stenosis reduced, and the area in the test group was lower than that in the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with data before treatment, the levels of serum TG,TC,and LDL-C in the test group decreased after treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with data before treatment, the levels of serum hs-CRP,IL-1β,IL-6,and TNF-α in the test group decreased after treatment, while TNF-α in the control group decreased after treatment. Moreover, the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in the test group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P=0.405).Conclusion:The simultaneous treatment of phlegm and stasis could reduce the degree of stenosis of coronary atherosclerotic plaques and shrink the plaque area.It might exert effects through alleviating inflammatory responses and regulating blood lipids.
