Research Progress on the Prevention and Treatment of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Diseases by Regulating Inflammatory Factors with Traditional Chinese Medicine

CHAO Xiang
Abstract:This review discusses the relationship between inflammatory factors and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and further explores the mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine in treating atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease from the perspective of inflammatory factors, aiming to provide new theoretical basis and potential therapeutic targets for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukins, and other inflammatory factors play important roles in the occurrence and development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Traditional Chinese medicine can exert anti-atherosclerotic, plaque-stabilizing, and cardiovascular function-improving effects by regulating the expression and activity of inflammatory factors, showing significant advantages in the treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
