Abstract:Objective: To systematically evaluate the efficacy of Yangxinshipian in the treatment of angina pectoris after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods: Randomized controlled trials on Yangxinshipian for angina pectoris after PCI were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, VIP, Chaoxing, and PubMed databases, with a search period from the establishment of the databases to September 2023. Two researchers independently screened the literature according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, extracted data from the included studies, assessed the quality of the literature, and performed a Meta analysis using RevMan 5.3 software. Results: A total of 9 studies involving 803 patients were included. The Meta analysis results showed that compared with the control group, the observation group had improved angina efficacy [RR=1.32, 95%CI(1.18,1.49), Z=4.68, P<0.00001], increased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol [MD=0.23, 95%CI(0.20,0.25), Z=15.90, P<0.00001], and superoxide dismutase [MD=9.85, 95%CI(5.84,13.86), Z=4.81, P<0.00001], while the frequency of angina attacks [SMD=-1.41, 95%CI(-1.77,-1.06), Z=7.78, P<0.00001], duration of angina attacks [MD=-0.84, 95%CI(-1.16,-0.53), Z=5.22, P<0.00001], serum total cholesterol [MD=-0.83, 95%CI(-1.17,-0.49), Z=4.75, P<0.00001], triglycerides [MD=-0.53, 95%CI(-0.65,-0.40), Z=8.36, P<0.00001], low-density lipoprotein cholesterol [MD=-0.98, 95%CI(-1.67,-0.28), Z=2.74, P=0.006], C-reactive protein [MD=-2.79, 95%CI(-4.95,-0.63), Z=2.53, P=0.01], and malondialdehyde [MD=-2.72, 95%CI(-3.11,-2.34), Z=13.87, P<0.00001] were reduced. Conclusion: Current evidence indicates that adding Yangxinshipian to conventional medication can improve the short-term and long-term efficacy of angina pectoris after PCI by reducing the frequency of angina attacks, shortening the duration of episodes, improving lipid levels, regulating inflammatory factors, and reducing oxidative stress damage.
