Abstract:The heart and lungs are two important organs located within the thoracic cavity, and the matching of airflow and blood flow ensures oxygen delivery to the body. The close anatomical and physiological relationship leads to mutual influence and constraint between the heart and lungs. Changes in intrathoracic pressure and lung volume cause corresponding changes in cardiac preload and afterload, leading to imbalance in ventilation-perfusion ratio, resulting in a 'heart-lung' common outcome. In patients with severe respiratory diseases, the matching of cardiopulmonary function is severely impaired, and invasive mechanical ventilation further complicates respiratory and circulatory changes. Correctly understanding the cardiopulmonary interactions under different pathological conditions is the basis and target for clinical effective treatment.
