Bibliometric Analysis of the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Cardiovascular Diseases

Abstract：Objective:Based on bibliometrics,the research hotspot of artificial intelligence(AI)application in cardiovascular field was discussed and the future development direction was predicted.Methods:The relevant literatures on the application of AI in the cardiovascular field published between January 1,2013 and December 31,2022 in the core collection database of Web of Science were searched.The Biblioshiny interface of R language and VOSviewer was used for bibliometric analysis,including countries,institutions,journals,authors,and keywords.Results:A total of 1 318 literatures were included.In recent 10 years,the number of published papers in this field increased exponentially.The two countries with the largest number of publications were China and the United States,and the United States was far ahead in total citations and national cooperation.The most productive institution was Harvard Medical School.The journal with the highest number of publications was Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine.Keyword analysis showed that the high-frequency keywords in recent three years were neural network,classification,risk,prediction,diagnosis,electrocardiogram,etc.Thematic maps showed that risk,association,mortality,classification,diagnosis,and prediction were represented in the first and fourth quadrants,while intima-media thickness,atherosclerotic plaque,and drug development were represented in the second quadrant.Conclusion:This field is in a period of rapid development.The current research hotspots in this field are:the application of artificial intelligence ECG in the classification and diagnosis of arrhythmia and myocardial infarction,the application of artificial intelligence in the risk prediction of fatal cardiovascular events,application of artificial intelligence in health management and risk control of cardiovascular patients.Carotid artery and coronary artery studies combined with AI imaging and related drug research and development are gradually receiving attention.The future development direction is mainly the combination development and application of AI technology and intelligent devices such as electrocardiogram,inspection indicators,imaging,and wearable devices,as well as the combination and complementarity of different AI algorithms in the field of cardiovascular disease.
