Abstract:Objective: To explore the efficacy of Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction combined with external counterpulsation on angina pectoris with blood stasis syndrome and its effect on myocardial oxygen consumption. Methods: A total of 192 patients with angina pectoris due to blood stasis syndrome admitted to our hospital from March 2020 to June 2022 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into four groups (A, B, C, D) using a random number table, with 48 cases in each group. Group A received conventional Western medical treatment, while Groups B and C received Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction and external counterpulsation, respectively, on top of Group A's treatment. Group D received both Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction and external counterpulsation on top of Group A's treatment. The incidence of angina symptoms, nitroglycerin intake, TCM syndrome scores, myocardial oxygen consumption, Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ) scores, clinical efficacy, and adverse reaction rates after medication were compared among the four groups. Results: Three cases were lost to follow-up in Group A, one in Group B, three in Group C, and two in Group D. After treatment, the number of angina attacks, duration, nitroglycerin intake, TCM syndrome scores, and myocardial oxygen consumption were all lower than before treatment (P < 0.05), and Groups B, C, and D showed lower values than Group A (P < 0.05), with Group D showing lower values than Groups B and C (P < 0.05). After treatment, SAQ scores were higher than before treatment (P < 0.05), and Groups B, C, and D showed higher scores than Group A (P < 0.05), with Group D showing higher scores than Groups B and C (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of Group D was higher than that of Groups A, B, and C (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions among the four groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Combining Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction and external counterpulsation with conventional Western medicine can effectively improve clinical symptoms in patients with angina pectoris due to blood stasis syndrome, reduce myocardial oxygen consumption, show good clinical efficacy, and have good safety.
