Abstract:Objective: To compare the efficacy of dual stent and provisional stent techniques in the treatment of complex coronary bifurcation lesions. Methods: Patients who underwent treatment for complex coronary bifurcation lesions at our hospital from March 2017 to September 2020 were randomly divided into two groups: the dual stent group and the provisional stent group. The primary endpoint was the composite outcome of target lesion failure (TLF) at 1-year follow-up, including cardiac death, target vessel myocardial infarction (TVMI), and clinically driven target lesion revascularization (TLR). The safety endpoint was the occurrence of definite or probable stent thrombosis. Results: At 1-year follow-up, the TLF rate was 11.4% (37/328) in the provisional stent group and 6.1% (20/325) in the dual stent group; 18 patients (5.5%) in the provisional stent group underwent clinically driven TLR. Conclusion: Compared with the provisional stent technique, the systematic dual stent method is associated with improved clinical outcomes.
