Abstract:Objective: To analyze the prevalence of metabolic syndrome, the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) using the China-PAR score, and the influencing factors among young and middle-aged staff members at a university in Beijing. Methods: A health survey questionnaire and physical examination were used, with 248 young and middle-aged employees with metabolic syndrome as the study subjects. According to the China-PAR risk classification, they were divided into low-risk, moderate-risk, and high-risk groups. Metabolic indicators were analyzed, and statistical analysis was performed using logistic regression. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome between different genders (P < 0.001). The 10-year cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease risk assessment results showed a statistically significant difference between different genders (P < 0.05). Comparisons of age, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and uric acid levels among different risk groups showed statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After adjusting for age and gender, work stress had a significant impact on moderate-risk individuals compared to low-risk individuals. Work stress and smoking had a significant impact on high-risk individuals compared to low-risk factors. Conclusion: Young and middle-aged individuals with metabolic syndrome have a higher 10-year risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and require close attention. In addition to improving metabolic indicators, the effects of work stress and smoking should also be considered.
